LOS ANGELES : Public Being Queried on Fares for Metrolink
- Share via
In an unusual twist, the public is being asked what it wants to pay in fares on Metrolink, the commuter train service scheduled to start in October from San Bernardino, the Santa Clarita Valley and Ventura County to Los Angeles.
A series of nine public hearings have been scheduled to gather comment on a proposed fare structure for the service, which is aimed at long-distance commuters.
The first public hearing was held Monday in Los Angeles. Other meetings will be held through the end of May in Van Nuys, Camarillo, Riverside, San Bernardino, Montclair, El Monte, San Juan Capistrano and Fullerton.
Metrolink plans to offer morning and evening rush-hour commuter train service throughout the five counties--Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura--that belong to the Southern California Regional Rail Authority.
