Eleven men were arrested when they allegedly solicited female police officers posing as prostitutes. Police said the men, ranging in age from 18 to 58, were arrested during a vice operation near the 2400 block of Market Street.
The undercover operation began at 9 p.m. Friday and ran until 1 a.m. Saturday and included several officers who walked along Market Street working undercover.
A police spokesman said vice officers targeted the east of downtown area because of a problem created by men who frequently look for prostitutes there.
The weekend investigation differed from previous vice operations in that the suspects were arrested and detained at the new city jail.
