Azusa : Youth Panel to Form Again

Share

The City Council voted unanimously to reinstate a youth committee of students from the city’s six middle schools and high schools.

A similar committee, the Teen Advisory Board, operated for three years beginning in 1988, but it was dissolved because of a lack of interest.

The new Youth Committee will work with the Parks and Recreation Commission. The goal is for the youths, ages 13 to 18, to make recommendations on activities they want in the city.

City staff members will meet to determine how many students will serve on the committee and how they will be chosen.

Joseph Guarrera, director of community services, said the selection process should be under way within 60 days.
