SAN DIEGO : Les Girls Loses Battle Over Signs

A Point Loma nude dance club has been ordered to remove illegal signs from its roof and outside walls, following a decade-long battle with the city of San Diego, the deputy mayor’s office announced Wednesday.

James W. Morgan and Kathleen D. Pierce, owners of Les Girls, a nude showgirl club, will have to remove the bright pink-and-black fluorescent signs by June 5 to comply with the judgment, Deputy Mayor Ron Roberts said.

The settlement includes the alteration of roof and projecting signs, a 30-foot ground sign and 156 square feet of wall signs, Roberts said.

The compromise marked the end of a bitter 10-year battle that started when the city issued a violation notice ordering the removal of the illegal signs at the club, 3790 Riley St., Roberts said.

Morgan and Pierce decided to settle to avoid the expense of further litigation, Roberts said.
