PANORAMA CITY : Writer Is Hired as Berman Aide
Rep. Howard L. Berman (D-Panorama City) has hired Tom Waldman, a Los Angeles free-lance writer, as a $35,000-a-year press and legislative aide in his district office.
Waldman, 35, has written about politics and urban issues for the California Journal, Los Angeles Times Magazine and the Los Angeles Daily News.
He most recently wrote a Los Angeles Times Magazine profile of Republican political consultant Ron Smith.
Waldman worked for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune from 1981 to 1985. He received a master’s degree in journalism from USC.
