Mishap Mars Protest at Border
San Diego police detained an immigration protester at a San Ysidro rally held Sunday by an immigration reform group.
The man, whose name was not released, drove his pickup slowly through a crowd of counterdemonstrators as a news conference was breaking up, police Officer John Piner said.
Three people were injured slightly but not hospitalized, said witness Rolando Gonzales, a member of Union del Barrio, a group that protests police and U.S. Border Patrol brutality.
The truck driver was part of the original demonstration by American Spring, an Orange County-based group.
