Barnes Expands: Barnes Management and Marketing Co., an Irvine-based sports marketing firm that specializes in arranging product and corporate sponsorship deals for auto racing drivers, has expanded by merging with Dyer Group, a small upstate New York marketing firm founded by corporate marketing specialist William Dyer.

The new Barnes Dyer Marketing, which will continue to represent racing drivers and racing teams, plans to expand its women’s collegiate sports marketing progrem, started in 1987.

Dyer will serve as chairman of the new firm, working from its New York office, while Barnes Management founder Bruce Barnes will direct daily operations as president. The company’s headquarters will remain in Irvine.
