Dave Ferraro of Kingston, N.Y., defeated Dennis Horan Jr. of San Diego, 240-177, in the 42nd game of qualifying to earn the top seed for today’s finals of the Professional Bowlers Assn. $125,000 Active West Open at Riverside. Ferraro finished with 10,180 pins to 10,158 for Horan, who had led the standings for the first 41 games.
