SANTA ANA — In what fire investigators believe may have been arson, six cars were burned in two separate carports along South Lyon Street on Sunday.
According to Lt. Bob Chavez of the Santa Ana Police Department, the first fire--at 801 S. Lyon St.--began about 5:15 p.m. While firefighters were battling that blaze, Chavez said, a second fire broke out at 521 S. Lyon St.
Chavez said the fire destroyed one car and seriously damaged five others.
“It appears that the cars were torched,” Chavez said.
