Sheriff’s Department investigators are looking for a prisoner who escaped Monday morning from a work detail at a landfill in unincorporated county territory.

Raul Abram, 36, of Anaheim was found to be missing about 10:40 a.m. from a crew working in the county landfill at Irvine Boulevard and Sand Canyon Avenue, near East Irvine, said Lt. Richard J. Olson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Abram had been arrested in Placentia in January and later convicted of grand theft and possession of narcotics, Olson said. He was being held at the minimum-security James A. Musick Branch Jail in Irvine and was scheduled to be released Nov. 16.

He is not considered dangerous, Olson said.

Abram’s escape from a work crew was the fourth by a Musick inmate in less than a month.

Cody Wayne Hildreth, 33, jumped a fence to escape June 8 but was arrested without incident 20 minutes later. The transient was working with other inmates at Orange County Fire Station 16 on Modjeska Canyon Road in Modjeska.

On May 29, two inmates escaped in separate incidents and have not been found, Olson said.

David Orland Campbell, 30, ran away from a work crew on Jamboree Road in Newport Beach. Two hours later, Jose Hector Ruizgomez, 19, escaped from a crew at the Musick facility, deputies said.
