Sun Valley Junior High Hit by Fire
A fire broke out on the first floor of Sun Valley Junior High School late Sunday and firefighters had it extinguished within a half-hour, authorities said.
About 45 firefighters responded at 8:32 p.m. to reports of the blaze at 7330 N. Bakman Ave., said Mike Little, a Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman.
There was no full estimate of the loss, but Little said the first floor “sustained considerable damage.” The cause of the fire was under investigation.
