Booth Wins Title

OCEANSIDE — Laguna Beach’s Jeff Booth won the $22,000 Nissan Open surfing competition Sunday at the Municipal Pier. Rob Machado of Cardiff, who was trying to win an unprecedented third contest on the Bud Surf Tour, finished third behind Booth and Shane Beschen of San Clemente.
