AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Westlake-Royal Wins Behind Lagattuta, 14-6

Rico Lagattuta had four hits and was the winning pitcher Wednesday to lead Westlake-Royal’s American Legion baseball team to a 14-6 victory over Centralia, Wash., in the Sierra Nevada Classic at the University of Nevada in Reno.
Lagattuta was four for five with four runs batted in. He relieved starter Tony Dellamano with none out, the bases loaded and the score tied, 2-2, in the second inning. He got out of the inning without allowing a run.
Westlake-Royal (9-2, 2-0 in the tournament) will face Rohnert Park, Calif., today at 9 a.m. in the final game of pool play.
In District 20 games:
Valley North 6, Woodland Hills East 4--Mark Lopez slammed a three-run homer in the first to lead Valley North (8-1-1) at Chatsworth High.
Ed Ramos was three for four, David Stevenson added two hits and right-hander Doug Dean (1-0) went the distance.
Quartz Hill 3, Newhall Saugus 1--Left-handed Travis Bowser (2-0) pitched a three-hitter and Mike Caudillo had a run-scoring single for host Quartz Hill.
Sun Valley 23, North Hollywood 5--Allen Alegria hit a grand slam and Adolfo Rocha added a solo home run to pace Sun Valley.
San Fernando 2, Panorama City 1--Jorge Gonzales (3-0) pitched a three-hitter for San Fernando (7-3-1) and Luis Rodriguez scored the winning run.
Van Nuys-Notre Dame 5, Lancaster North 1--Glen Carson hit a home run and Francisco Dongo was three for four for host Van Nuys-Notre Dame.
