An estimated 130,000 Danes partied through the night and welcomed their European Championship soccer team in central Copenhagen, while in Germany, drunk rowdies and skinheads rampaged in two cities after their national team’s stunning 2-0 loss to Denmark at Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Danes’ peaceful celebration was in contrast to the reaction in Germany, where there was rioting in Hamburg and Neumuenster. About 40 people were injured and scores were arrested.
