A man suspected of robbing a Thousand Oaks bank led sheriff’s deputies on a wild chase through the city’s streets Friday before being apprehended, officials said.

Raymond Johns, 24, of Thousand Oaks was arrested on suspicion of bank robbery, vehicle theft and evading arrest after he jumped from his car near Westlake Boulevard and Agoura Road, Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Employees at the Security Pacific Bank at 173 N. Moorpark Road called the Sheriff’s Department about 11 a.m. when they noticed a man watching the bank from a car in the parking lot. The man went into the bank, showed a teller a handgun and demanded cash, deputies said. Johns was walking out of the bank when deputies arrived, authorities said.
