PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Bailey Continues to Grab Attention
Second-year cornerback Robert Bailey continued his attention-getting play Saturday, making another interception in the seven-on-seven drills a day after Coach Chuck Knox praised Bailey’s early performance. “That was nice,” Bailey said of Knox’s comments. “I’m working hard, so I guess he’s giving me my due.”
In the absence of unsigned No. 2 pick Steve Israel and the possible holdout of last year’s starting right cornerback, Darryl Henley, when the veterans report Wednesday, Bailey could be in serious competition for a starting spot.
Tight end Jim Price was held out of both practices because of a sore right foot, but Knox said he expected Price to be back at work today. . . . Quarterback Jim Everett is scheduled to report to camp tonight and begin practicing Monday.
