The Marines called in the firefighters Monday to help battle a 750-acre grass fire at Camp Pendleton.

The fire in the northern area of the 186,000-acre camp was reported at 5:20 p.m., said Marine Cpl. Doug Anderson. It was contained about 8:40 p.m., Anderson said.

No structures were damaged. There were no reports of injuries.

Firefighters from San Diego and Orange counties were sent to help fight the blaze.

Orange County Fire Department dispatcher Valerie Williamson said two bulldozers, water trucks and fire crews were sent shortly after 7 p.m.
