Moderate Quakes Continue to Rock Southland
Moderate earthquakes continued to rock Southern California on Monday, rattling windows but causing no injuries or major damage.
Caltech scientists reported that a magnitude 4.5 temblor struck six miles northeast of Barstow at 6:13 a.m., less than nine hours after a magnitude 4.4 quake struck in the same vicinity Sunday night.
Scientists also reported that a 2.9 earthquake struck seven miles southeast of Ontario at 8:36 a.m. Monday and a 3.9 magnitude aftershock to the 7.5 magnitude June 28 Landers quake hit Sunday night five miles north of Yucca Valley.
