Caught with the evidence in her baking pans, 68-year-old “Brownie Mary” was arrested for allegedly baking weed-laced brownies for AIDS patients, authorities said.

Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies had a warrant to search the home of Stephen Rider, suspected of dealing marijuana, when they found Mary Rathbun folding 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana into batter Tuesday, said Lt. Chuck Smith.

“I make them for the worst of the patients, the ones on chemotherapy and the ones totally wasting away,” said Rathbun, better known by the nickname Brownie Mary since a 1981 arrest for selling marijuana brownies to undercover San Francisco police.

Police said Rathbun and Rider, 38, were released after posting $5,000 bail.
