Glenn Cadrez and Dennis Byrd each returned interceptions for touchdowns and Browning Nagle ran for one score and passed for another as the New York Jets defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 41-14, in the Hall of Fame exhibition game at Canton, Ohio. Herschel Walker had four carries for minus-1 yard in his Eagle debut.

Scott Mitchell, filling in for Dan Marino, passed for 227 yards and one touchdown to lead the Miami Dolphins to a 22-21 victory over the Washington Redskins at Orlando, Fla. . . . Lorenzo White scored on a three-yard run and a 23-yard pass play from Warren Moon in the Houston Oilers’ 34-23 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at Tokyo.
