From Staff and Wire Reports
Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Rick Mears will miss Sunday’s Budweiser Grand Prix in Cleveland because of complications from a wrist injury suffered when he crashed during the Indy 500 in late May.
Mears attempted to race last Sunday in the Marlboro 500 in Michigan, but withdrew after 92 laps because of the wrist. Speculation is that Mears may sit out the remainder of the Indy car season to rehabilitate the wrist.
