David Frost, who won the Buick Classic in Rye, N.Y., in June, shot a second-round 65 Friday in the Buick Open, giving him a 10-under-par 134 and a one-shot lead over Wayne Grady at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Mich.

The winner of the $1-million tournament gets $180,000 and a new Buick.

“Actually, I haven’t picked out my car from the other tournament,” Frost said. “I was going to wait and decide which model I wanted after this one was over.”

Frost, who started the round five under par, bogeyed the par-three third hole but birdied the last four holes before the turn, sinking putts of two, 30, 20 and 35 feet. He birdied the 14th to pull even with Grady, then took the lead with a 15-footer at the par-three 17th.

First-round leader Brad Fabel shot a 72 that left him two strokes off the lead.

Walt Zembriski, relying on a resurrected putter, shot a six-under-par 66 to take the first-round lead in the Digital Seniors Classic at Concord, Mass.

Zembriski had six birdies and no bogeys in building a one-stroke lead over Kermit Zarley and South Africans Gary Player and Simon Hobday.

Zembriski, of Orlando, Fla., used an old putter he had discarded six to eight years ago. He found it while rummaging through some old clubs, re-gripped it and used it Friday for his 28-putt round.

Aiming for her third victory of the season and 28th of her career, Betsy King shot a five-under-par 66 for a two-shot lead after two rounds of the $500,000 LPGA Stratton Mountain Classic in Vermont.

King’s 136 on the mountain course was two shots ahead of Dottie Mochrie, the tour’s hottest player, and Lori West.
