SAN DIEGO : Firefighters Battle Cardboard Blaze
Firefighters spent most of Sunday at the scene of a stubborn fire that erupted Saturday evening at a paper recycling company at 3042 Webster Ave.
San Diego Fire Department dispatcher Juliana Shadoan said the fire started about 6 p.m. Saturday and was noteworthy for its plume of smoke, but otherwise caused no injuries.
The blaze was declared under control later Saturday night, but firefighters continued to pour water on the smoldering cardboard and to watch for flare-ups on Sunday, she said.
