Manchester Wins Four-Lap Main at Speedway

Chris Manchester of Hesperia won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Manchester led the entire race. Mike Faria of Colton was second, Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was third and Steve Lucero of Riverside fourth.

Gary Ackroyd of Newport Beach came from 30 yards off the starting line to win the eight-lap handicap main event. Scott Brant of Riverside was second, Shawn McConnell of Brea third, Faria fourth, and Rob Pfetzing of Orange was fifth.
