PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Saying Goodby to UC Irvine
The Rams packed up their equipment and moved out of UC Irvine, ending four weeks of training camp there. They will resume work at Rams Park on Sunday, after playing the Raiders tonight.
Coach Chuck Knox said he was satisfied with the camp and that the players seemed to adapt well to his new, faster-paced atmosphere.
“We’ve gotten a lot done,” he said. “We still have a long way to go. We need to have some players come on and establish themselves. We just have to keep working at it.”
Although running backs Cleveland Gary and Robert Delpino did not participate in Friday’s light morning workout, Knox said he still wasn’t ruling them out of tonight’s exhibition. . . . Also still questionable are receivers Henry Ellard and Vernon Turner, running back Derek Loville, tackle Gerald Perry and defensive tackle Alvin Wright.
