A fire gutted a single-story manufacturing building in Burbank early Wednesday, causing an estimated $1.1 million in damage, Fire Department officials said.

The fire at Permaluster Inc., 1844 N. Keystone St., began about 1:15 a.m. and was put out about 40 minutes later, Battalion Chief Doug Parris said.

Damage was estimated at $100,000 to the structure and $1 million to its contents, Parris said.

Permaluster manufactures “specialty wire for high-tech companies,” said company owner Henry Walker.

“We’re not sure when we’ll reopen,” Walker said. “Right now, things are very confused. We have to clean it up.”

The blaze damaged the roof and doors of a building next door, causing $1,000 in damage, Parris said.

The cause was under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
