O’Malley Working on the Wrong Thing
Dear Peter O’Malley:
The Dodgers are in last place and sinking, attendance is down half a million, the farm system is a shambles and you’re busy trying to fire the commissioner. It seems to me that your priorities are skewed. All the team needs is a couple of healthy outfielders, an infield and a pitcher or two.
But wait, maybe you have another plan. Perhaps you don’t want to break up the Dodger-Giant rivalry. With the Giants moving to Tampa-St. Pete the Dodgers could move to Florida, too. Just think, the Tampa Bay-St. Pete Giants vs. the Tallahassee Dodgers. It brings tears to the eye, and with the new commissioner in your pocket, it would be a cinch.
Frankly, Peter, don’t you think your father would have worried more about repairing the ballclub before worrying about Mr. Vincent?
