Fans of Larry Legend Give Downey the Business
In your pathetic, left-handed compliment to Larry Bird, Mike Downey, you say he was a pretty “fair player for a white boy.”
Sure, Bird didn’t celebrate slam dunks, but he could shoot under and around the basket expertly with either hand, as well as setting up teammates with dazzling passes, and he could rebound, too.
In my book, not yours, even though I am an ardent Laker fan, I consider Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird equally the three greatest players in the ‘80s.
