NORTH HOLLYWOOD : Employees Hit, Kicked in Robbery

Share

A bank robber punched and kicked three employees of a North Hollywood bank during an armed robbery, the FBI said Friday.

Two men entered a Security Pacific Bank at 5025 Lankershim Blvd. about 5:50 p.m. Thursday and ordered customers to the floor, said Bill Rehder, coordinator of FBI bank robbery investigations in Los Angeles.

One of the robbers jumped the counter and began issuing commands to bank employees while the other robber, armed with a semiautomatic pistol, stood guard in the bank’s lobby, Rehder said.

When one of the employees failed to move quickly, the robber behind the counter punched an employee in the face, kicked another in the back of the legs and kicked a third in the chest, Rehder said.

The robber then took an undisclosed amount of money from the tellers’ drawers and fled with his accomplice in a four-door sedan, Rehder said.
