CAMP PENDLETON : Engine Trouble Forces Landing
The pilot of a single-engine, four-seat plane landed safely at Camp Pendleton after experiencing engine problems Monday after taking off from Palomar Airport, officials said.
The pilot radioed Palomar Airport saying he “was going down,” and possibly landing on Interstate 5 north of Oceanside, airport officials said.
The pilot, however, landed safely on a Hovercraft landing pad at Camp Pendleton at 1:47 p.m., officials said.
