PREP FOOTBALL : Leuzinger Rolls by Bolsa Grande, 43-6
Jason Sharp scored two touchdowns to lead Lawndale Leuzinger over Bolsa Grande, 43-6, in front of 850 Friday at Bolsa Grande.
Sharp, a junior tailback, scored on a 44-yard pass from Jason Simmons in the first quarter, then returned a kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
The Olympians set the tempo early, as Thomas Flanagan scored on a 73-yard run on their first play from scrimmage. Flanagan finished the evening with a game-high 83 yards in eight carries.
Leuzinger took a 37-0 halftime lead, rushing for 207 yards and passing for 78 more. The visitors finished with 234 yards rushing in 29 carries.
The Matadors were led by halfback Adam Gilbert, who rushed for 46 yards and scored Bolsa Grande’s only touchdown on a 58-yard fumble return.
