Lunkers at Irvine Lake Seem to Have Nine Lives
They are pulling catfish out of Irvine Lake as though there was an endless supply, which in fact there is because of the weekly stocking of thousands of pounds of them.
Five-fish limits of channel catfish have been averaging about 30 pounds and the biggest single catch of the season--a 39-pounder landed by Bill Finch of Costa Mesa--was weighed in last week.
