The Richard Katz for Mayor committee will host a Western barbecue on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Sunset Farms Recreation Park, 16301 Foothill Blvd. in Sylmar. There will be games and activities for children and country music. The cost is $20 per person, with children under 12 admitted free. Katz, a Democratic assemblyman who represents the northeastern San Fernando Valley, has announced his intention to raise money to run for mayor of Los Angeles.
