Three People Jailed in June Stabbing Death in Stanton
Homicide investigators have arrested three people in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Stanton last summer, authorities said Tuesday.
The three were booked on suspicion of murder in the death of Jesus Murguia Cruz, 25, of Upland, Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson said.
Sheriff’s deputies found Cruz bleeding from stab wounds in the 10600 block of Magnolia Avenue on July 16. Cruz died about an hour later at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Homicide investigators said they think a fight between Cruz and Pascual Richard Albillar, 30, of Phoenix led to the stabbing but declined to say what may have prompted the argument.
Detectives arrested Albillar and Margaret Mendoza Vieyra, 28, together on Sept. 4 in Phoenix. They have since been booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana, Olson said.
Christopher James Montoya, a 28-year-old cabinetmaker, was arrested at his Anaheim home on Sept. 3, Olson said.
Olson, who declined to say which suspect may have stabbed Cruz, said the murder investigation is continuing. Detectives have not yet recovered the murder weapon, Olson said.
The three suspects were being held in Orange County Jail in Santa Ana in lieu of $250,000 bail each, Olson said.
