Glendale : Red Cross Fund Drive Begins
The Glendale-Crescenta Valley chapter of the American Red Cross has begun a campaign to raise $78,131 to assist storm victims in Florida, Louisiana, Hawaii and Guam.
Vonnie Rossman, Red Cross disaster services coordinator, said the fund-raising goal represents 50 cents for every Glendale resident. More than $28,000 had been donated by last week.
The campaign is part of the national organization’s efforts to raise $100 million for its Disaster Relief Fund, which has been depleted by the large number of disasters in the past year.
