Hornaday Finishes 4th, Retains NASCAR Southwest Points Lead
Rick Carelli of Denver led from start to finish in Saturday’s 100-lap NASCAR Southwest Tour main event at Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino.
Carelli, the tour’s defending champion, finished 2.5 seconds ahead of Bob Lyon of Newhall. It was his tour-high seventh victory of the season. Doug George of Atwater, Calif., finished a close third.
Ron Hornaday Jr. of Palmdale, the tour’s points leader, finished fourth. Hornaday holds a 65-point lead over George in the standings.
