San Jose State a Tall Order for CS Fullerton

Share

Cal State Fullerton, which has been outscored, 104-3, in its last three games and is far from full strength defensively, will attempt to slow a potent San Jose State offense tonight during a Big West Conference game at Spartan Stadium.

The Titans (1-4, 0-1 conference) will be without their best defensive player, inside linebacker Lorenzo Hailey, who suffered a knee injury last week, and injured free safety Carldale Avery.

Cornerbacks Darrius Watson and B.B. Hudson are expected to start, but both have ankle injuries. Quarterback Trendell Williams won’t start because of a shoulder injury and will be replaced by Quincy Guy.

The Spartans, who are averaging 26.4 points, are led by Jeff Garcia, who has completed 96 of 172 passes for 1,026 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 181 yards in 50 carries and scored four touchdowns.
