Seasonal temperatures and sunny skies are expected throughout the county this weekend as a high-pressure system moves into the area, the National Weather Service said.

Highs this weekend will be in the mid-70s along the coast and mid-80s inland. The gray skies that lingered into late afternoon this week will be replaced by bright sunshine after morning low clouds burn off, said Wilbur Shigehara, senior meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

The high Thursday at Lindbergh Field was 74 degrees. The norm for this time of year is 75, Shigehara said.

Beach highs this weekend will range from 70 to 75 degrees, Shigehara said. The ocean water temperature is 65 degrees, and the surf is 2 to 3 feet, he said.

Today’s coastal high will be between 73 and 78 degrees, Shigehara said. The high Saturday will range from 75 to 80, and nudge up a degree Sunday, he said. Overnight lows will range from 60 to 66 degrees.

Inland today, the highs will be between 78 and 86 degrees, and between 80 and 88 Saturday, Shigehara said. The high Sunday will range from 82 to 90 degrees. Inland lows will be between 55 and 62 tonight and Saturday night, Shigehara said.

Sunny days and starry nights are expected in the mountains this weekend, Shigehara said. Daytime temperatures will range from 70 to 78 today, 73 to 80 Saturday and 75 to 82 Sunday, he said. Mountain lows will range from 42 to 52 degrees.

Desert highs today will range from 90 to 95 degrees, getting up to near 100 by Sunday. The overnight lows will range in the 60s, Shigehara said.
