PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Last Season’s Loss a Giant Turning Point

Share

In Week 2 of last season, the New York Giants, coming off a thrilling, season-opening victory over the San Francisco 49ers, were upset by the Rams, 19-13. Things went downhill after that for the Giants and their new coach, Ray Handley.

Said Handley: “There’s a lot of things different about this football team than that football team, but that was a big disappointment to us, not that the Rams didn’t come in here and earn that victory.

“But we were disappointed that we weren’t able to put something on top of our win over San Francisco. We just haven’t been able to string together very many victories.”

Wide receiver Flipper Anderson missed another day of practice Friday because of tightness in his hamstring, but Coach Chuck Knox said Anderson should be ready for Sunday’s game against the Giants.
