ARLETA : Freeway Lanes to Be Shut for Striping

Share

The southbound lanes on the Golden State Freeway between the Simi Valley and the Hollywood freeways in Arleta will be closed from midnight tonight to 5 a.m. Thursday for fresh striping, Caltrans officials said.

The southbound lanes also will be closed from midnight Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.

Caltrans officials suggest that motorists exit the Golden State Freeway at Paxton Street, go left to Laurel Canyon Boulevard, turn right on Laurel Canyon, then turn right at Branford Street to re-enter the southbound freeway.

The striping work is part of an $8-million project to convert a lane used for merging traffic into a regular traffic lane between the Simi Valley and the Hollywood freeways. Work began Oct. 15 and is scheduled to be completed in early 1994.
