Cerritos : Recycling Plan to Allow Use of Single Container
Cerritos officials are preparing a recycling plan that would allow residents and businesses to keep dumping all of their trash into the same container.
Under the recycling plan, trash would be picked up and taken to a materials recovery facility, where recyclable materials would be removed. Recycling would add an estimated $1.85 to the current residential trash bill of $8.06 a month, according to the city. Commercial customers, who pay varying rates depending on the size of bins and frequency of collection, would pay an average increase of $5 a month.
