More Police for Los Angeles
Proposition M to raise money for a new 911 system in Los Angeles is an exercise in futility as well as a waste of time and money. We continue to abuse the police and find them guilty of misconduct anytime they “mistreat” some felon (see “City Found Negligent in Death of Suspect,” Oct. 21). There is no motivation for them to assume the risks in doing their job, and at the present rate of attrition, there will be no police left in the city by the time the new system is ready for use.
