Henrik Holm of Sweden upset top-ranked Jim Courier, 6-4, 6-3, to move into the quarterfinals of the $1.3-million Stockholm Open.

Holm has improved his ranking to a career-high 23rd.

Second-seeded Stefan Edberg joined his compatriot in the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Karel Novacek of Czechoslovakia.
