A man firing from the back seat of a car killed a San Diego man and wounded another in a drive-by shooting in East San Diego, police said.

The incident occurred late Friday in the 5100 block of Naranja Street about 5:40 p.m. Police officers were called to the area after reports of shots being fired. They discovered Calvin Anders, 33, of East San Diego, lying in the street, with bullet wounds to the lower body.

Witnesses described a man firing from the back seat of a dark-colored sedan leaving east on Naranja Street, a San Diego Police spokesman said Saturday. Witnesses said the victims were standing on the corner when shots were fired without provocation.
