Four men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shooting a man at a North Hills intersection, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

John Yarborough, 33, of North Hills was wounded in his left shoulder about 7:20 p.m., Sgt. Roger Dowis said. Yarborough was standing on the corner of Nordhoff Street and Sepulveda Boulevard when four men drove up and parked on Nordhoff.

Yarborough apparently tried to run, but one man got out of the car and shot him, Dowis said.

A patrol car later sighted a car matching a description of the gunman’s auto, and four men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.

Yarborough was listed in good condition at Holy Cross Medical Center, Dowis said.

A motive for the shooting had not been determined.
