San Diego : Garbage Pickup to Be a Day Late

Garbage pickup in parts of the city of San Diego will be a day late because of the Veterans Day holiday Wednesday.
Collections will be a day later than scheduled for residents whose trash is normally collected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The delay will also include downtown, a Waste Management Department spokeswoman said.
The day-late policy began at least 15 years ago when employees asked to work Saturday instead of missing a holiday day off with their families, spokeswoman Terri Steele said.
