San Diego : Ohio Man Killed Crossing Freeway
A man was hit and killed by a pickup truck while crossing Interstate 8 Tuesday morning, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Arthur Clark III, 21, of Loraine, Ohio, was killed at 5 a.m. when a pickup truck hit him in the fast lane of westbound Interstate 8, just east of the Waring Road under crossing, officials said.
Witnesses told CHP officers that Clark had been standing at the center divider of eastbound Interstate 8, when he climbed over the center wall and tried to walk across the westbound lanes.
Clark was struck by a pickup truck driven by Joseph Rodrigues of Lakeside, who was not cited. Clark’s body was then hit by several other vehicles on the freeway.
