Moorpark 28, Santa Clara 6--Richard Hernandez rushed 10 times for 47 yards and two touchdowns at Channel Islands High to help the Musketeers (2-8, 1-3) break an eight-game losing streak.
Moorpark, winless since beating Mojave in its opener, took a 14-0 first-quarter lead behind the running of Hernandez. Hernandez also intercepted two passes and returned the second-half kickoff 88 yards to set up Parker Johnston’s one-yard scoring run. In the third quarter, Hernandez threw a 19-yard touchdown pass on a halfback option to Jason Livingston.
