Agassi Defeats Gilbert in 3 Sets in Forum Match
After dropping the first set, Andre Agassi won nine of the final 11 games and beat Brad Gilbert, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1, in an exhibition match Tuesday night before 6,065 at the Forum.
Gilbert, who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, was a late replacement for MaliVai Washington, who was forced to withdraw earlier in the week because of a knee injury.
Brian MacPhie, a junior All-American at USC, defeated 16-year-old Floridian Scott Humphries, 10-5, in a preliminary match.
