Good Seen in King School Visit; Others Disagree
Now let me get this straight. The African-American student club at Tustin High needs a speaker, preferably a role model and someone they can relate to and immediately Rodney King comes to mind? Folks, we are in big trouble! Here is a man who has been and continues to be out of control of his own life and he is the best this group can do?
No one condones the senseless beating of Rodney King, but to hold up a semi-literate thug, Rodney King or not, as any kind of “role model” to the young and impressionable is mindless. To have this sanctioned by some psychologist (“King Attorney Hits Response to School Visit,” Nov. 21) from UCI and (King’s) own attorney is supposed to lend some sort of credence to any of this?
